2 - Une lecture prémonitoire

Dans le TGV qui me ramène à Paris ce samedi du mois d'Octobre, je lis avec enthousiasme un roman d'un auteur Indien qui me transporte de Benares à Haridwar avec une escapade par Pondicherry et Mahabalipuram... Pour finir au pied des Himalayas à Dharamsala. Plus qu'un peu plus de 6 semaines et j'y serais moi même à Benarès et je vibrerais en contemplant le Gange et l'activité incessante des centaines de ghats qui ont chacune leur histoire et particularité. J'ai hâte de commencer mon neuvième voyage en Inde qui me mènera du Taj Mahal aux plages de Varkala, qui fera suite à la découverte des paysages et sites de l'état 'far west' du Madhya Pradesh. Et bien sur de mon étape sur les rives du Gange de Benarès ou j'ai tant d'émotions à déposer et d'énergie à recueillir.

In the TGV train bringing me back to Paris after a few days spent in Britany, I finish reading a book set, for most part, in Varanasi and that also takes you to Hariwar, Pondicherry, Mahaballipuram and at the feet of the Himalayas in Dharamsala. In a little more than 6 weeks I will be there myself, on the banks of the holy Ganges in Varanasi, having seen the Taj Mahal that I have not yet had the opportunity to see. I am so looking forward to this ninth Indian visit that will also take me through some of Madhya Pradesh to see the Kamasutra murals of the temples in Khajuraho, visit some natural beauties and holy places such as Orccha, Ujjain, Maheswar, Mandu, Omkareshwar, the caves of Ajanta and Ellora. I will also visit the town of Hyderabad before heading for Kerala where I will spend some nights in the backwater setting and the last 59 days at the beach in the holy town of Varkala

1- Préparatifs, l'itinéraire

Cette partie du voyage est pour moi une part importante de l'aventure. C'est le moment pour me renseigner, lire, me documenter sur les lieux que je souhaite visiter. Le temps que j'y passe me permet de passer la période de l'été dans un voyage virtuel qui se déroule entre internet, plans et horaires de train. Je construis mon plan, je choisis mon itinéraire et les lieux ou je passerai mes nuits. Cette préparation, en plus d'être une bonne occupation, me permettra de profiter pleinement sur place des lieux et des rencontres, un fil d'Ariane qui, pour certains, retire l'aspect 'imprévu' du voyage mais qui, pour moi, me donne toutes les possibilités de vivre les imprévus en toute sérénité.

Preparation is for me an important part of the adventure. I can travel before travelling, I document, read and take some or all the decisions regarding my itinerary and places I will stay. I do this during the summer months, when others are on holiday and I am working. For some people this takes away the fun of travelling and living day by day and living an adventure, for me it's the opportunity to really enjoy the places and people without having to worry about where I will be the next day and gives me more freedom to live the adventures in a diversity of places
