Hyderabad, gaz d'echapements, strass et burquas

Hyderabad, capitale de la perle et des bracelets est une ville qui sent la richesse et les gaz d'échappement. C'est une grande ville, assez organisée et goudronnée, il y a beaucoup moins de poussière mais la circulation est très dense et l'air est parfois irrespirable. Un projet de métro devrait aider a réduire la circulation, sa mise en place est prévue dans un futur proche. La ville fondée à la fin du fin 16e siècle par Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah fut ensuite administrée par les dynasties des Nizams qui y développent la culture, l'art et la cuisine. La gestion de l'eau est ici essentielle, car le climat est chaud, très chaud, des barrages et lacs artificiels ont été construits dès la fondation de la ville. Tous les bâtiments officiels ont une architecture grandiose de style 'mughal' avec des arabesques et moucharabiehs. Les minarets de charminar sont au centre de la vieille ville et de ses souks, remplis de strass, de passementeries et de bracelets de toutes les couleurs. Par contre dans les rues, le noir de la burqua intégrale est clairement majoritaire, tout comme les sourires et la bonne humeur ambiante. J'ai donc fait mes emplettes de galons, biais et quelques strass, ainsi que profiter d'un bel hotel 'design' au bord du lac. Je ne suis pas allé au palais de falaknuma qui est maintenant un fleuron du groupe TAJ et classé parmis les 10 plus beaux hotels du monde car je pense ne pas me sentir confortable dans un tel endroit, un peu trop 'hors du temps' pour moi. Hyderabad is a busy, vast and very polluted city, it was created late 16th century and was the home to the riches of the Nizam dynasty until 1948. Dams and artificial lakes were built to bring improve the living conditions in the very dry and hot climate of the region. The town was developed and planned so its quite easy to get about and even if the traffic is dense and produces a lot of toxic fumes, the roads are well maintained, traffic lights are respected, the traffic flows and most rickshaws use the meter. Official buildings and royal residences are beautiful and are a testimony of the grandeur and the richness of the city and the Nizzam's who were kings of the pearl industry. Bangles and embroidery are also big business here and prove that under the burquas he women are wearing colour, sequins and gold. I am starting my star hotel treatment here with a 'design' and modern hotel located on the banks of the main lake and will not be having lunch at the Nizam's residence which is now part of the Taj group of hotels and is rated as one of the 10 most luxurious in he world, the falaknuma palace.
